Forecast Discussion

A cold front arrived last night. It stalled over the region today and lifted to the north as a warm front this afternoon and tonight.

The next cold front arrives Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures fall late Tuesday and overnight. We'll have more clouds and possibly a few snow flurries. Wednesday has decreasing clouds and cold temperatures.

As cold high pressure moves east into the Atlantic, we'll have a modest moderation of temperatures Thursday into Friday morning.

A more potent cold front arrives late Friday. In addition to the front, low pressure will move from the Gulf to just off the Atlantic Coast and strengthen into a full-blown Nor'easter by the time it reaches New England. We can expect light snow or snow showers Friday afternoon, Friday night, and lasting into a cold/windy Saturday. Most of the snow with this system is expected to be of the NW Flow variety favoring the western escarpment Friday night and Saturday.

Sunday has clearing skies and some temperature moderation by afternoon. The weekend Nor'easter signals an end to the persistent cold we have experienced since January 3... next week will be milder.
