Wedding Flowers

Shady Grove offers Fresh Mountain grown flowers. We are 'Your local Flower Growers' for the Boone, Blowing Rock, Linville, NC area. We deliver to all the 'High Country' of NC. There is something to please everyone. We grow over 200 varieties of perennials and shrubs along with 50 different types of annuals. You may purchase wedding flowers two ways. We offer floral traditional design services, including center pieces and wedding favors. Or for you may purchase just the flowers and have someone arrange them for you. Some brides have us arrange the wedding party flowers and they arrange the reception flowers. Fresh flowers are offered by the mixed bucketful or individual types of flowers may purchased by the bunch. Potted herbs and small trees may also be ordered. For any bride try us first for the best value as well as fresh, organic and locally grown flowers.

Fresh Mountain Grown Cut Flowers by Subscription

We are now offering a cut flower subscription or CSA (community support agriculture). Starting June 17th, members will be scheduled for either 10, 15 or 20 weeks of fresh flower bouquets. The pickup point will be the Wednesday Watauga County Farmers Market in Boone, NC from 8-12AM. Each week you'll receive a large arrangement of our best flowers in a bucket for transport home. After skipping a few weeks in Late October and early November the last pickup will be at the Thanksgiving Saturday Market and it will be red Winterberry Holly to enjoy throughout the holiday season. Saturday mornings at The Watauga County Farmers Market May-October. Wednesday mornings at the Watauga Market mid-June through mid-September. Cut Flowers

Fresh cut flowers may be purchased for any occasion. You may special order ahead early in the week with a $45 minimum or you can pick from our freshly cut selection on Friday afternoon. Flowers are sold by the bunch. Bunches are either 5,10 or 20 stems. Or a mixed bucketful of what looks good that day. Please plan to bring buckets to carry them home.

For a simple, gorgeous outdoor wedding of less than 200 people check out our wedding site in Ashe Co. NC. The site is 25 miles from Boone, NC. Our wedding knoll offers unobstructed views of three states. On 70+ acres of rolling hills and woodland, you will have privacy, parking and a restroom. We offer receptions for groups smaller than 50 at this time.

Nursery

Shady Grove Gardens offers perennials and small flowering shrubs at our nursery of more than 20 years. Nursery hours are 9-6 on Friday, call for an appointment to visit at other times. We specialize in shade and partial shade plants; hardy in the High Country. In 2009, we will have a good selection of Native plants and flowers to attract butterflies. We are growing Penstemon, Veronica, new Echinacea, Phlox, Heuchera, herbs, daylilies, Lilac and flowers for cutting. In 2009, we will also have many unique vegetable transplants. These include heirloom tomatoes and vegetables we like to grow and eat. If you are looking for something special, call us.

Watauga County Farmers Market

Brent and Susan attend the market every Saturday morning May-October. We bring our flowers, perennials, herbs and vegetables every week, rain or shine. We are under the shelter, look for our sign. You'll love our lilies and sweet red peppers. With an advanced order, we can offer flower delivery on $45 or more to the Wednesday Farmers Market.

Scenic Hayrides at our Peak Cut Flower Farm

See the real mountains on our cut flower farm Sundays and Mondays at 4PM for a 1 hour plus scenic hayride. Farm tour and refreshments are included, as well as natural history oriented to the group's interest. $10 per person.
