...SLIPPERY ROADWAYS EXPECTED ACROSS THE NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS INTO TUESDAY MORNING... Recent mountain rainfall, and high elevation snowfall, will contribute to slippery roadway conditions Tuesday morning as temperatures fall below freezing across the mountains overnight. In addition, sheltered locations may see fog development and patches of freezing fog and elevated icing could make bridges especially slippery by daybreak. Use caution if driving overnight through Tuesday morning across the North Carolina mountains. Be on the lookout for black ice on area roadways. Allow extra travel time to reach your destination, and slow down while driving.
