Forecast Discussion

For those of us who were longing for "real" fall weather, today was your day complete with a chilly wind and falling afternoon temperatures.

Sunshine gradually returns Thursday, however, it is quite cool and breezy (especially in the morning). Frost is a good bet Friday morning especially in valley locations. Wind is the limiting factor for a blanketing frost as I would like to see a nearly calm wind across the board, but it remains elevated Thursday night. Either way, if you are trying to preserve sensitive plants be sure to cover them.

High pressure bubbles overhead Friday and then off the East Coast Saturday. Both days are extremely nice and gradually warmer despite chilly mornings.

Then it gets more interesting. Sunday, a disturbance moves northeast from the Gulf ahead of another strong cold front slated for passage next Tuesday. Depending on where and how quickly the front running disturbance goes will have a big impact on our weather Sunday. Right now I have showers developing during the day with scattered showers continuing at times Monday. The heaviest swath of rain will be tied directly to the front Tuesday.
