Half & Half Weekend

Low pressure is zipping up the eastern seaboard taking steadier rain with it. However, a gusty northwest flow develops behind the departing low keeping nuisance level drizzle or light showers around at times into the afternoon. Incoming colder air will make for a transition to flurries and snow showers around sunset (this afternoon at higher elev's). Snow is fleeting and novelty level stuff. Sunday has a good amount of sunshine, a diminishing wind, and seasonal temperatures.

Forecast Discussion

A cold front moves through this afternoon accompanied by a strong northwest wind, falling temperatures, and flurries or snow showers by the evening. Snow is light and fleeting and I think the highest achievers up top will do good to get a dusting tonight. All things considered the frontal passage isn't exceptionally impressive, but nonetheless be prepared for a windy afternoon. In the process of it all we'll contend with light showers or drizzle at times this morning and early afternoon.

Sunday is a respite and par for the course in mid-December.

Low pressure moves northeast from Texas Monday to New England Tuesday. Clouds return Monday followed by rain developing Monday night. I can't completely rule out a front-running shower during the afternoon, but essentially this rain event is Monday night through Tuesday morning. Tuesday afternoon has decreasing clouds and cold invading quickly on a gusty northwest wind. A few flurries are within reason Tuesday night.

Canadian based high pressure nudges south Wednesday making it the coldest day of the week, sunny yet windy too.

Thursday and Friday are seasonably pleasant and uneventful. We'll have to watch and upper level system that moves through the Southeast next weekend that could bring some wet weather. There's a chance it stays far enough south that it isn't a talking point.
