A front moves through late Friday. As it approaches this evening, scattered showers and thundershowers develop, with a concentration later tonight. Friday will have more, and showers/thundershowers will not be limited to the PM hours. This weekend, the front settles to our south and a wedge of cooler air settles into the Appalachians bringing clouds, fog, and occasional showers. Monday looks drier.

Forecast Discussion

A front is approaching from the northwest this evening and moves across the Appalachians from the north late Friday. It settles south into Georgia this weekend. We'll have scattered showers and storms this evening and tonight, then a healthier dose Friday (not limited to the PM hours). Friday will not be quite as warm as today was.

The weekend brings a big change as a wedge of cool air overtakes the Southern Appalachians. Expect clouds with fog, unseasonably cool temperatures, and occasional light rain or drizzle (especially along the Blue Ridge).

I think the wedge will break Monday. It will be cooler than usual, but we should see some sun by afternoon.

The next front arrives Wednesday. Scattered afternoon showers develop Tuesday as the front approaches. Shower and thundershower coverage increases Wednesday. Temperatures will return to seasonable levels.
